10th Annual Parrot Head Run to Benefit Fostering Hope
The Parrot Head Run is a scenic 5k and 1 mile walk in the Flats East Bank, followed by Margaritaville Cleveland’s Anniversary Party. The race was established in 2017 by four Valley Forge High School graduates in honor of a friend and fellow Parrot Head that passed away due to mental illness. Partnering with a local charity with whom she used to volunteer — Fostering Hope of Ohio — the goal in creating this event was to commemorate her life and promote mental wellness in a positive way. You can visit Hermes Cleveland or click the link below to learn more and register for the race.

Hugs of Hope Stuffed Animal Drive
Help Brighten a Child’s Valentine’s Day!
February can be a cold winter month, so let's warm hearts with a simple expression of LOVE. Our goal is to collect 500 new stuffed animals to include in the Journey Bags we provide to children in foster care across Northeast Ohio. Each bag is "stuffed with love, delivered with hope."
When children are removed from their homes, they often only have a plastic garbage bag to carry their belongings. Fostering Hope partners with agencies to provide duffel bags full of essentials and comfort items to support them during this difficult transition.
Why Are Stuffed Animals Important?
A cuddly stuffed animal is more than just a toy—it’s a source of comfort, stability, and emotional security during one of the most challenging moments in a child’s life. Your donation can help bring a sense of warmth and hope to a child in need.
How to Donate:
We’ve made it easy for you to contribute! You can donate a NEW stuffed animal with tags in one of three ways:
Amazon Registry – Select a stuffed animal from our Amazon Wishlist and have it shipped directly to our office.

City Club Forum: Aging Out of the Foster Care System
Every year, roughly a thousand young people in the foster-care system in Ohio “age out” and are thrust into a reality where they are more likely to face homelessness, unemployment, and food scarcity. Child welfare agencies are working to fill the gaps, but opportunities remain.
Adrian McLemore has an intimate and deep understanding of the foster care system. At just six years old, Adrian found himself in a foster home. For the next 12 years, he lived in three states, bouncing between his parents and the system, eventually aging out of foster care. Then at 21, he responded to a call to become a kinship caregiver for his niece and nephew, who were both toddlers at the time. From these experiences, Adrian has become a champion for ensuring young people are part of the foster care conversation. He has spent over 20 years providing professional, progressive, & personal expertise across a broad range of child welfare systems.
Join the City Club as we hear from Adrian on how we can all strategically partner with agencies and institutions to improve outcomes for youth and families.
